"The darling buds of May"
- An appreciation of what is fresh and new.

This is my darling bud, you will have seen her blossoming on my blog a lot this year.
“Every child born into the world is a new thought of God, an ever fresh and radiant possibility”
~ Kate Douglas Wiggin

"Best bib and tucker"
- best clothes.

I have not had too many occasions recently for my “best bib and tucker” but hopefully there will be more soon.
Here I am as a blonde and a size 8.
I still have the dress as I am ever hopeful!!!!!

A dress that zips up the back will bring a husband and wife together.

"Bats in the belfry"
crazy, eccentric!

I am not the only crazy member of the family!
Sue, Abbie and some friends are going to be doing the Santa run again this year for Helen and Douglas House. Colin and I are bowing out gracefully this year.

“My friends and I are crazy. That's the only thing that keeps us sane.”
Matt Schucker

"upsy daisy"
An exclamation made when encouraging a child to get up after a fall or when lifting a child into the air.
I don’t think Colin was up for lifting me up today!
“If you want to lift yourself up, lift up someone else.”
Booker T. Washington

"The bees knees"
Excellent - the highest quality.
I try to obtain high quality in my photo:
One of my shots of the “bees knees.”
It is the quality of our work which will please God and not the quantity.

"Think outside the box" -
Think creatively, unimpeded by orthodox or conventional constraints.
I just love editing in photoshop and had fun doing today's prompt.
When you think outside the box, the box goes away.
~ unknown
I'll be more enthusiastic about encouraging thinking outside the box when there's evidence of any thinking going on inside it.
~ Terry Prachett
21st October
This week we will look at phrases and sayings, for inspiration.
"An Englishmans home is his castle" -
The English dictum that a man's home is his refuge/ his home.
I certainly live in a village of contrasting house styles!!!
“A house is made of walls and beams; a home is built with love and dreams.”

I'll start with today's photo that is brilliant not only in colour but in composition too.

Best bib & Tucker lovely photo and weren't you slim I love the quote you found for this day.

Crazy but not so crazy such a good cause you are working for there.

Did you fall or was that posed, which ever it was it is a brilliant photo

I love your bee he is so clear.

On the box more like and well done on that bit of computer manipulation

what a strange looking building that first one it looks like a modern house with a bit of a castle added on. The thatched cottage is beautiful.

Great photos Shirley. At first I thought that you had manipulated the first photo of the house - who would put a tower like that on a modern house? - I much prefer the thatched cottage.
I love what you have done with the box prompt.
