"I'm dreaming of a "---" Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know"
- Bing Crosby
What are you dreaming of this Christmas?
Not sure what my dreams are except rest and relaxation with the family.
I am starting to get in the festive mood today, as Abbie’s school is putting on a Dickensian Christmas play.

"Celebrate good times, come on! (Let's celebrate)
There's a party goin' on right here
A celebration to last throughout the years
So bring your good times, and your laughter too
We gonna celebrate your party with you"
~ Kool and the Gang
What are you celebrating today?
Last Friday Jules passed her Viva. After 7 years of hard work she will be Dr. instead of Ms. That is certainly something for the family to celebrate. No recent photo but this one from July will have to do until Jules comes home for Christmas.

"Deck the halls with boughs of holly
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
'Tis the season to be jolly
Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la
Don we now our gay apparel"
Is your house all ready for Christmas?
The house might ready but I am not!
Abbie and Colin have managed to set up our little village. Just looking in the shop windows makes you want to be there!!!

"Oh I'm the happiest Christmas tree
Look how pretty they dressed me
Oh lucky lucky me
I got shiny bells the jingle
And tiny lights that tingle
Whenever anyone passes by
I blink my lights and wink my eye!"
I always dread is turning on of the Christmas lights for the first time. Luckily it only took me half an hour this year to check them and get them all working.

Never worry about the size of your Christmas tree. In the eyes of children, they are all 30 feet tall.

"It's the most wonderful time of the year.
With the kids jingle belling,
and everyone telling you,
"Be of good cheer,"
It's the most wonderful time of the year."
The shops have been getting ready for Christmas since September but I think that Christmas starts in December and not before.

"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Ev'rywhere you go;
Take a look in the five-and-ten, glistening once again
With candy canes and silver lanes aglow.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas,
Toys in ev'ry store,
But the prettiest sight to see is the holly that will be
On your own front door."
Just as well this is not a real candy cane, all that sugar would not be good for the waistline and it is difficult enough at this time of year trying to loose weight as it is!

Christmas is just around the corner, this week lets get inspired by Christmas music!
The holly and the ivy,
When they are both full grown,
Of all trees that are in the wood,
The holly bears the crown:
~ The Holly and the Ivy
Decorated holly and ivy always takes me back to my primary school days when every year we made table decorations to take home. Getting messy with glitter was as much fun then as it is now!
